A new winter, a new ice stupa – construction at the Diavolezza

Last Saturday, it was time again: together with a motivated team of volunteers, we prepared the Ice Stupa for this season at the Diavolezza valley station. Thanks to their energetic support, we were able to restore and reinforce the internal scaffolding—a stable foundation that we were able to reuse from last year. In addition, the control system was installed.

A particular highlight was the visit by the Flash Film Produktion TV. They accompanied us with cameras and microphones and filmed for the well-known TV show „Sendung mit der Maus“ We were able to show them the construction process step by step and explain how an ice stupa works. From the structural and technical aspects to the water supply behind the impressive ice structure, there were many exciting details to discover. In the photos, you can see how hard the film crew worked.

We would like to sincerely thank all the helpers who tackled the task with so much energy and enthusiasm. Without your commitment, this project would not have been possible. A big thank you also goes to the film crew for their fantastic cooperation.

Now we are looking forward to winter with great anticipation: How will our ice stupa develop? How tall will it be this year? We are excited—and of course we are also looking forward to the episode of „Sendung mit der Maus“in which our project will be featured.
