Ice Stupa trifft Osterhase – Ein Fest zwischen Wissen, Natur und Abenteuer
Ice Stupa Event 2026
What a special day! This year’s Ice Stupa Event once again demonstrated just how fascinating the combination of nature, innovation and community can be. Visitors of all ages came together not only to marvel at the Ice Stupa, but to experience it with all their senses.
The ice tower, standing several metres tall, made an impression right from the first glance: a silent yet powerful reservoir for water – and at the same time a symbol of new approaches to managing our resources. Guests had the opportunity to explore the Ice Stupa from the outside and even from the inside.
As well as being amazed, there was plenty of exercise too: snowshoe walks took us through the wintry landscape, accompanied by interesting information from the guide.
Understanding what lies beneath the ice
A key part of the day was the sharing of knowledge. A presentation explained what ice stupas are, how they form and why they are so important, particularly for regions where water becomes scarce in the spring.
A particular highlight was the live report from Ladakh: a member of staff from our partner organisation, Acres of Ice, spoke directly from the Himalayas about her work on the ground. This exchange vividly demonstrated how global challenges and local solutions are interconnected.
There was plenty of time between the programme items for people to meet and chat.
Over live music, good conversation and a warming bowl of soup, guests were able to chat and ask questions.
