The GlaciersAlive Association is a group of committed people from science, research, communication and administration who work for sustainable solutions to water issues.

We are both an international organization and a group of local actors. Together we can achieve positive developments in our own environment and worldwide.

In order for the mountain regions to fulfill their role as water castles for large parts of the world's population,
the interactions between water - agriculture and tourism can be optimally cultivated through effective projects.

Internationally recognized expert in glaciology and climate change. Investigates the Morteratsch glacier since 1994.

Chantal Hirt

Qualified tourism specialist and mountaineer. Through her studies at the HFT in Samedan and her internship at the Center for Applied Glaciology she got to know the association GlaciersAlive. Here she takes over the members administration and organization of the excursions.

Claudia Schaub

Psychologist and psychotherapist. At the age of 34, she was on a high mountain tour week on the Piz Bernina and on the Piz Palü and "fell in love" with the glacier world. She wants to do something for the environment in addition to her job and is therefore involved with GlaciersAlive.

Dipl. Tourismusfachfrau und Bergsteigerin. Durch ihr Studium an der HFT in Samedan und ihr Praktikum im Zentrum für angewandte Glaziologie hat sie den Verein GlaciersAlive kennengelernt. Dort übernimmt sie die Mitglieder Verwaltung und Organisation der Exkursionen.
